One on One Counselling

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Below are some common questions to help you feel informed and at ease before reaching out. If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

1. What issues do you help with?

I support adults and couples navigating a wide range of concerns including anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration (including LGBTQIA+), self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and burnout. I also offer specialised support for survivors of childhood trauma and those looking to reconnect with themselves.

2. Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

Both. I see clients in person in Teneriffe, QLD Wednesday evenings, Fridays and Saturdays. I also offer secure online sessions Australia-wide for flexibility and accessibility.

3. What are your fees?

  • Individual counselling (50 mins): $150

  • Extended individual session (90 mins): $180

  • Couples counselling (60 mins): $210

I also offer low-cost options for clients experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to discuss availability.

4. Do you offer Medicare rebates?

Currently, counselling sessions with me are not eligible for Medicare rebates.

5. How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your goals. Some people attend just a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others benefit from ongoing support. We’ll collaborate to find a pace and plan that works for you.

6. What is your approach to therapy?

I draw on trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches including ACT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and the Gottman Method for couples. I tailor therapy to suit your needs, values, and goals—not a one-size-fits-all model.

7. Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in our sessions is confidential. There are a few legal exceptions, such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by court order. These limits will be explained in our first session.

8. How do I book a session?

You can book directly through the Book Now link in the menu or click here or contact me via email or phone. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to answer any questions.

9. What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens! I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a late fee, as that time has been set aside just for you.

10. Do you offer therapy for LGBTQIA+ clients?

Absolutely. I am a queer-affirming therapist and offer a safe, supportive space to explore identity, relationships, and mental health without fear of judgement.

11. Can I use my NDIS funding for counselling sessions?
Yes—if you're self-managed or plan-managed, you can absolutely use your NDIS funding to access counselling with me. While I’m not a registered NDIS provider, many clients successfully claim sessions under their plans. I provide invoices with all required details, including your NDIS number, service description, and my ABN. If needed, I’m also happy to communicate with your plan manager or support coordinator to support your goals. Please note I’m unable to see agency-managed (NDIA-managed) participants, as they can only access registered providers.
